2017 Sorento Earns Highest Safety Rating from IIHS

This past Monday, Kia Motors announced the exciting news that the 2017 Sorento is the recent recipient of a Top Safety Pick+ rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. In order to earn the coveted highest "plus" rating, vehicles must offer an available front crash prevention system that scores "advanced" or "superior." Not only did Kia's Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) system earn a superior rating, but the Sorento's quality construction helped it achieve the highest score of "good" for all five crashworthiness tests.

Other advanced safety and driver-assistive features available for the 2017 Sorento include Lane Departure Warning, Blind Spot Detection, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, and more.

“These results are a clear indication that Kia places a high priority on safety by offering advanced crash avoidance technologies and enhancing vehicle structure through the use of advanced high-strength steel,” said Orth Hedrick, vice president, product planning, KMA. “We are proud that the Sorento received strong ratings across the board, and having earned the prestigious TSP+ award bolsters our strong safety record and the integrity of our products.”
